I am preparing to go on a long planned road trip with my wife Deby during the month of March.  Deby has retired from her career at American Specialty Health February 15th and we have been planning this trip for over a year.  We are going coast-to-coast and have two week long timeshares scheduled for Williamsburg Virginia and Nashville Tennessee.

I am planning on preaching on March 1st and during the month of March you will most likely be served by supply pastors on Sunday mornings and our wonderful deacons during Wednesday Lenten worship .During the Lenten worship services there will be members of St. Peter’s sharing their faith stories and my greatest regret will be not being able to hear those presentations and enjoy the potluck suppers that precede worship.

It is possible that the Bishop may be able to find another Bridge Pastor for you to begin in March but that has not yet been determined at the writing of this article.  If you still do not have a permanent pastor or a new Bridge Pastor by April 1st I can be your pastor for the first two weeks in April which would mean I will be with you for Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter.  However beginning the last two weeks in April and for the next 3 months I will be at Christ Lutheran in Pacific Beach helping there while Pastor Dave Nagler is on Sabbatical.  That commitment was made over a year ago.

I have really enjoyed my time at St. Peters and I will always have fond memories of my time here.  I have been wonderfully blessed and inspired by my time with you.

Pastor Rick
